I suppose we are most appreciative of artists whose style and philosophy resembles our own...I also love to paint the natural world because it allows me to connect with that world in a sort of symbiosis. I see that same kind of connection in your work -- in your "luminous realism" -- and am very taken with it. I dabbled in art in high school, but got sidetracked into creative and journalistic writing, and only took up watercolor painting about as I neared retirement, about four years ago. I'm still an amateur, but I like to think I am improving...and I thank you for inspiring me to continue with a style that I love. |
